dmesg | grep console

Xen virtual console successfully installed as xvc0

cat /etc/inittab | egrep "ttyS|vc"
#T0:23:respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 9600 vt100
#T1:23:respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS1 9600 vt100
#T3:23:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -x0 -s 57600 ttyS3

domU. You ARE having problems seeing domU's login screen, right?
since you say you can connet with ssh,

dmesg | grep console

and

cat /etc/inittab | egrep "ttyS|vc"

from ssh session should be enough.
