Re: [Xen-devel] problem using compiled kernel -- Sisu
On 07/29/2010 05:29 PM, Sisu Xi wrote:
Hi,
I reinstalled Fedora 13 on my machine, with my graphic card removed
(using the integrated one on my motherboard). Still Xen would not
start normally. My fedora was on /dev/sda3(sda1&2 are windows). I just
used one volume without swap. Does Xen require swap as a must?
No, Xen doesn't need swap at all. Linux's requirement for swap is
unchanged under Xen (ie, if you don't need it native, you don't need it
under Xen).
In any case, your crashes have nothing to do with swap; you've managed
to get an entirely new failure-mode. Looks like it might be something
to do with ACPI, but I'm not sure what.

Thanks very much!
Best!
