Both, eth0 and peth0 have the very same configuration and IP addresses
in "ifconfig -a".

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
address 127.0.0.1
netmask 255.0.0.0
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
Try using static ip instead of dhcp in dom0. Maybe this is messing with
your interfaces.
