Firebird might be binding before your preferred interface comes up, but
I don't think this is the Firebird users list. :)
I don't think that is the problem as FB works fine with Suse in VMWare
and without being in a guest Xen session. In addition this is a Linux
error message, not a FB error message. I have also asked them these
same questions. So I am hoping between the two lists we can figure
this out so the next guy can use this knowledge.
What happens if you restart Firebird after it's completely booted?
Why don't you configure Firebird to listen on a specific interface?
(Another non-Xen issue.)
Interface can mean a lot of things. Do you mean TCP/IP. I am not sure
Net Buei is even supported any more.
If you are talking about the port, from everything I have tried, the
server is listening on port 3050, so that isn't the problem either.
The problem is squarely on that if from out side the server I try to
get through on port 3050, the server (Linux) is specifically rejecting
the request.
If you don't want to help, just don't reply. This is not a Firebird
specific issue. I can attach to Firebird locally without using TCP/IP.
