Re: [Xen-users] Lab manager for Xen

Hi,

I suggest also to have a look at

https://savannah.cern.ch/projects/vgrid

I've seen it recently presented at a conference and it seems great! Actually never had a try on it

cheers,

        Ivan

Is there an opensource tool for managing the various Xen domains both locally
and remotely ?

GUI: You might like xenman ( http://xenman.sourceforge.net/ ). CLI: xen-tools ( http://www.xen-tools.org/ ) is very convenient.

Redhat has the virt-manager. And allows us to connect the hypervisor to local
host and remote host.
How does that work ?
Anybody has datasheets, or whitepapers ?

AFAIK it uses lib-virt ( http://libvirt.org/ ). See http://libvirt.org/architecture.html for an overview of the architecture. It's written in Python, and uses libvirt Python bindings, so you you could hack away if you want to.

Best,

Otto
