Actually in a SunFire X4100 (and some other new hardware) there's a cirtual 
CD-ROM 
drive that can use ISO images on a remote machine (PC) to boot from. Like with 
a 
local DVD/CD. It's also quite slow, but it works.

And DVD-burners are increadibly cheap now. Really.
