thanks joe, but - nope, checked that (it's also in my initial mail). The value remains unchanged as '0', which according to the comments in this file means that all cpus will be used.

does your dom0 kernel config have CONFIG_SMP=y?

try 'sudo xm dmesg | grep CPU'

if you can run domU's on different cpu's, the dom0 must be able to see more than one.
