I do see that VT is enabled thanks to your suggestion.  However, I cannot boot an unmodified guest OS yet.  Looking through the xen messages I see this too:

(XEN) Domain 0 kernel supports features = { 0000001f }.
(XEN) Domain 0 kernel requires features = { 00000000 }.

Could this be a source of a problem?  Or do you know where else I could look to get an unmodified OS to boot?  It hangs right when the hvmloader bios starts to boot from a hard drive.  I can though, boot from a Ubuntu or Fedora install CD, however the computer hangs after the initial press of [ENTER] to install the OS.

Thank you!

Try "xm dmesg|grep VMX". If grep finds "(XEN) VMXON is done",it's VT enabled.

Subject: [Xen-users] Check if VT is enabled

Hello group,

I recently purchased an HP m7360n computer which has an Intel Pentium D 920 processor in it. Unfortunately there is no BIOS option to enable or disable VT. The board it sits on uses the Intel 945P chipset.

If I am in linux and do a 'cat /proc/cpuinfo' I get this:
[root@localhost ia32]# cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 15
model : 6
model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz

cache size : 2048 KB

fpu : yes

Notice that it detects vmx, which is Intel's VT.

My question is: Is there any way to tell if xen is using VT or to see if it is even accessible? I really would like to get xen working in one way or another and would much like to use VT with it.

Thanks,
Dan
