Good results.

What is your linux command line ?  Did you specify a serial console ?
The handling of xencons in linux seems a little buggy.

Personnaly I don't use initrd.
For RHEL version I don't know which one I am using.  I will investigate on 
next boots.  But I think it shouldn't matter (or at least it may matter 
latter: init should start).
