Thanks, Kevin and John, for all your hard work to get
this working again.

I haven't looked closely at the patches (Kevin's, and
John's which haven't yet been posted :-)...

Are there any files changed that are NOT ia64-specific?
I want to be very careful about putting files into
xen-ia64-unstable.hg that, if pulled into xen-unstable.hg,
might break Xen/x86. These should probably be separate
patches so Keir can look at them individually.

Also, once this is all working, we should look at what
it would take to get xenlinux/ia64 built directly from
the xen(-sparse) tree so we won't have to play
"catch up" again.

Logging out for the evening now...

Yes, Kevin made some changes in non-ia64 specific files. I think most of the changes are in ia64-specific code, but you'll need to review them.

My patch set will include a change the tools Makefile to not build ioemu for ia64. You don't have to accept that change if you don't want to. The only other change I have to xen-ia64-unstable is in the ia64-specific version of grant_table.c.

As to the driver changes in xenlinux, we'll have to see what it will take to make things acceptable to the x86 crowd. In the block driver, several of the changes may not be strictly unnecessary, but it is kind of ugly to allocate/free things that you never really use. We'll have to see what we can do there. I'm not sure about networking, yet.

John
