Looks good so far!

Since you don't have an Intel xenlinux tree, please send
that patch separately and I will apply it and test.

As I've been discussing with Eddie, I'm rather unhappy with
the way the merge has turned arch-ia64.h into such a mess.
I had planned on simplifying it rather than making it more
complex.  But I guess we can go with this merge for now.

It appears that you are doing that already now.

Looking over the last changeset, I am concerned that the
console default may have switched to tiger4.  From what I
understand, this box is only used inside of Intel.  It would
probably be best if the default is left to be the box
that most developers are using.  Or, alternately, perhaps
someone in Intel can study the existing Linux code for
serial init... the best long-term default is probably
whatever Linux does.
