Re: [Xen-devel] Unable to Configure Xen Dom 0 in Jeremy's PVOPS Kernel
Hi Boris,
I am aware that Intel Core 2 Duo support EM64T and most processor
models support VMX. I am running AMD Socket AM2 X2 processor myself at home
and using 64-bit Linux myself.
My colleague Danny is not aware of this and he downloaded and installed
32-bit OpenSUSE 11.1.

Actually, you seems to be the second person
complaining this issue.
I would suggest 64-bit distro ( you are on Core2Duo) to
build the most recent Jeremy's kernel. Personally, i succeeded on F11 and
Ubuntu 9.04 Server both x86_64.
You might also experience problem with building 2.6.30.X
Xenified kernel due to same 32-bit env. Workaround is well known, however
it's pain again.
Boris.
P.S. Once again address PVOPS issues to Jeremy.

Hi,
I used the rebase/master branch as suggested but I still
don't see any Xen related options. Please see screenshot.

FYI I am using OpenSUSE 11.1 32-bit with Intel Core 2 Duo VMX
processor flag (hardware virtualization extensions).
Thank you.

Thank you! I will go and check it out.
Another question: The latest stock kernel 2.6.30.2 from
kernel.org is paravirt-ops enabled (since 2.6.20) but it does not support
Xen Dom 0? Only Jeremy's pv_ops enable kernel support Xen Dom 0?
The other approach to use Xen is not to use pvops enabled
kernel but to apply patches to the stock kernel to Xenify it?

If you checked out :-
git checkout origin/xen-tip/next -b
xen-tip/next
then try another branch
git checkout origin/rebase/master -b
rebase/master
First one may be outdated in meantime.
Address it to Jeremy Fitzhardinge, for qualified
respond.
Boris.

Hi All,
I followed the instructions here at
http://bderzhavets.wordpress.com/2009/06/10/setup-fedora-11-pv-domu-at-xen-3-4-1-dom0-kernel-2-6-30-rc6-tip-on-top-of-fedora-11/
However, when I do a "make menuconfig", I cannot
see any XEN related configuration options. What am I missing?
Thank you.
