Actually, something is more broken. While I got video, the X server is
very crashhappy. Right now I've given up on NVidia cards and put in a
Radeon x800 xt I have laying around... which just works.

If you want to look at the nvidia interface code, let me know, and I'll
send you my observations/patches.
