[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1418] New: Xen 3.3.1 and infinite loop on X48 MB
http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1418
Summary: Xen 3.3.1 and infinite loop on X48 MB
Product: Xen
Version: unstable
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: Linux-2.6
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Hypervisor
AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: nfrey@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi !
I had what seems to be a bug with vt-d on xen 3.3.1 on a C2SBX+ supermicro MB
(vt-d activated), CPU Q9550.
When I boot on Xen I can see these two lines in xm dmesg :
(XEN) Cannot handle page request order 0!
(XEN) Failed to parse ACPI DMAR. Disabling VT-d.
Xen does start OK, excepting that vt-d isn't working.
I digged as deep as my knowledge allowed me to do, so I saw :
In the dmar.c file (xen/drivers/passthrough/vtd/) there is an infinite loop on
line 460 while. The variables tested don't grow, so it loops until the heap is
full, then elegantly unhook and continue.
I would be pleased to collaborate to the resolution of this bug and is at
disposal for any more information.
