Hi Chris,

I'll try to reproduce this now. It should work...!

Hi guys,

Can I ask again (whine, whine), should I be able to create a Windows 2008 R2 (64) vm from the corresponding template using XCP 1 beta and Citrix Xencentre 5.6 fp1?

I have tried hard to read any help available but I can't get over the fact that during install from iso or cdrom the hard drive can't be detected and install looks for drivers. Is there some gotchas with this template and R2? If it's the case I need to add pv drivers after installation how do I get windows installed in the first place from iso? I tried other install template with the same result.

Any help appreciated.

Chris

Pasi,

First of all thanks, have been scratching my head over this one.

Does this mean that I can't use the Windows 2008 R2 64 template provided in XCP 1 when installing the same os?

Do I need to do 'other install media' and then sort out drivers?

If so, why is the template there?

Thanks again,

Chris

Ubuntu VM is PV (paravirtualized), so it uses /dev/xvd* disks automatically.

Windows VM is HVM (fully virtualized), so it has emulated IDE disks, which are /dev/hd*.
(You can use optimized PV disks when you're done installing windows and you have
installed optimized Xen PV drivers).
