I'm still having trouble getting the XAPI web service up... I did a fresh XAPI-on-Debian install today, but there doesn't seem to be an /etc/xensource/xapi-ssl.conf after installing the xapi package...
 not sure where it's meant to come from or what I'm meant to put in it :(

You need to enable SSL.
Edit /etc/default/stunnel set enable to 1 I think
Copy the xapi_ssl_conf file (i think that is it's name) to /etc/stunnel
Generate the certificate and start stunnel.

I think you will need to use a beta version of XenCenter because the 5.6 version does not work (at least for me)
