After some research ([1] [2]), it seems that people are having difficulty with
saving. I can save and restore on the same machine just fine. It's when I try
to restore on another machine that is fails. And, it fails silently, no error
whatsoever.

However, since I do run the system that fails according to [1], why does save
work OK?
