As another addendum:

[1] states: "Both systems must be running compatible processors.". When are
processors compatible? In my case they differ quite a bit, but they still are
i686.

[1] Also shows a xend.log after a succesful migration. Mine looks like that.
Incompatible CPU's would have been logged, I presume?
