SATA is like IDE, EIDE, ATA, or SCSI: So many devices and controllers out
there...
So if your XENified Linux supports that controller (and device), you should be
fine as guest VMs have nothing to do with the hardware.
However withing XEN you might loose some lower-level hardware access functions
(like S.M.A.R.T, ethtool, IPMI, etc.)
