I don't think so.  I wasn't previously aware of DRBD (but I'll certainly 
look into it now).  I believe that NBD will do all that I described, at 
least according to: http://www.it.uc3m.es/~ptb/nbd/, but possibly not as 
well (but again, I'll still need to look further into DRBD!)
