Thread-topic: Increase performance on Windows VMX domain (BKM)

Guys,

I found a good way to increase the smoothness and mouse/keyboard performance of a Windows XP VMX domain today…

Use remote desktop to connect to the Windows VM. The performance is far superior to that of both of the standard SDL and VNC access mechanisms. It can obviously be done remotely from a network attached Windows machine, but it can also be done locally from the XenLinux host domain using a package called ‘rdesktop’ available from www.rdesktop.org. Connecting locally using this method results in a far smoother feel to the VM, particularly suitable for demos and the likeJ

Cheers,

John
