OK, sorry it took a bit longer to get round to it ....

I upgraded to 3.1.0-rc6, then booted to baremetal (didn't want
bugchecks during the build to corrupt the kernel I was building)

Instaleld kernel source and development tools, hacked the spec file to
tweak the buildid and insert Patch and ApplyPatch lines for your mutex
instead of spinlock patch, built the kernel, installed and booted the
resulting 3.1.0-rc6.andy kernel as baremetal to make sure it was OK,
which it was, then booted it under Xen, unfortunately it crashes ...

Log from serial console attached, any further infor required, just let
me know ...
