Hmm, added a quick check to the most obvious place, that doesn't
trigger though, so it must happen somewhere else ...

I think most likely there's random memory corruption going on, and this must be how it is currently manifesting itself on your system. :-(

We also see all kinds of random crap going on in the dom0 netback driver, where it looks like data pointers may be overwritten with garbage.
