First of all upgrade your software versions.

Xen 4.0.1 final has been out there for a long time already,
and 2.6.31 based dom0 kernel is unsupported and not maintained.

You should switch to xen/stable-2.6.32.x dom0 kernel git branch,
that's the default and supported kernel.
