Gerry,

After warm reboot, i got pretty interesting results (Ubuntu 9.04 Server) :-

1. Virsh started  to work
    #  virsh create f12-install.xml
    #  vncviewer localhost:0 & F12 PV DomU installation
Define domain and load
    #  virsh define f12-runtime.xml
    #  virsh start <DomName> ( from previous profiles)
    #  vncviewer localhost :0
2. Virt-manager appeared  to show proper entries and allowed me to
start/stop F12 DomU, but not "open", instead of open
     # vncviewer localhost:0
3. Virt-install stopped to work , giving "segmentation fault" right away.

I guess  we have different setups in regards of Xen 3.4.X.
You did "prevu build" and installed debian packages making Ubuntu's 9.10
packaging  system aware of your actions.  I built Xen 3.4.2 manually , it mostly
reminds intrusion into system, regardless i understand , what "prevu" build is and
how to proceed with it. That was due to intend  to apply MRJ's ext4 patch for pygrub (    already  CS 19858 in xen-3.4-testing.hg ) and move faster then "prevu" does.

I rebooted box several times to make sure the picture with virsh and virt-install kept stay
the the same and it did. I created several F12 DomUs managing via virsh profiles and
it worked 3 times for me . Virt-install is gone.  It worked (several times ) , but only right after "apt-get install  virt-manager libvirt-bin kvm",  i.e. only before the first time i rebooted the box.

Boris .
P.S. It's Q9550 ,8 GB RAM , SATA Barracuda 500 GB HDD box , built up on ASUS P5Q-E

I'm not seeing any problem with 'virsh' or 'virt-install'.  I'm using kernel 2.6.31.6 built about one week ago from Jeremy's git tree.  And I built Xen 3.4.1 debs using 'prevu' method that I found in one of your blog posts (Jaunty?) and adapted it for karmic.  What do you see fail with 'virsh'?  Can it create/start/shutdown/destroy a domain?
