If i try to compile XEN tools (using 'make tools'), i get this error:

/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.1.2/../../../libpthread.so when searching for -lpthread /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.1.2/../../../libpthread.a when searching for -lpthread /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/bin/../lib/libpthread.so when searching for -lpthread /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/bin/../lib/libpthread.a when searching for -lpthread /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/libpthread.so when searching for -lpthread /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/libpthread.a when searching for -lpthread
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpthread
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

If i dist-upgrade this host to debian lenny - the are no compile errors anymore.
But now i need the tools for a ETCH host.
