I think I'd have a different perspective. When you consider the intel CPUs that are widely available, you see that, despite the end of moore's law, the faster CPUs are about 30x as powerful as the slowest.

I'd sooner pay $500 for a 2GHz core 2 duo that is 5x as powerful as an atom.
