Thread-topic: [Xen-users] Cannot destroy or delete domain

Hi Pawel,

Thanks for the help but unfortunately using the UUID behaves no differently to using the VM name.

I did find out what was wrong though using the command you sent me, virt-install has tried to use a bridge that does not exist on my setup, I have since created a para virtual VM with virt-install specifying the bridge and this new VM works fine. Unfortunately the “mg4” VM is still stuck.

Thanks again,

Rob

Hi Vlado,

There is no process with mg4 in the name, is there anything else I oculd try?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi All,

I have a domain that will not destroy or delete. Destroying gives no
error, deleting gives the error "Error: Domain is not halted." And start
gives this error "Error: Domain is already running".

mg4                                             1024     1
0.0

The domain was created with this command but crashed early in the
install process:
virt-install -n mg4 -r 1024 --vnc --vncport=5918 --noautoconsole
--os-type=rhel5 -p -l
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/mirror.centos.org/5.3/os/x86_64/

I have tried restarting the xend service. Does anyone have any ideas on
how to get rid of this Domu?

Find PID:

#ps aux | grep mg4

and kill -9 it...
