Yes you are right, the spam was sent to the list which is not what I
thought you meant originally.
I'm pretty sure that I could send an email to the list and spoof your
email address as the sender, and the list wouldn't be able to tell the
difference... does the list do any other validation aside from email
address? (eg ip address?). There may not be much that can be done about
this unless it turns out a spammer did just subscribe to the list to
start spamming.
