what's the best way ? vmstat, iostat or something  else.?

Actually thats a good question. What is a good way to benchmark virtual machines especially with regard to SMP. There is unixbench, and nbench. But to my knowledge neither of those are really suited well for benchmarking SMP systems. I was thinking running distributed.net with one thread/cpu. I might run some unixbench tests just to see what kind of results I get.

Anyone else have a good benchmarking procedure that encompasses cpu, memory, and disk IO?
