Yes, it is, I thought I write it to the mailing list,
I now use the Broadcom driver. Works without any problem now.

It's probably due to bnx2 driver in default kernel in Etch. Happened to me.
My fix was to use the drivers provided by Broadcom and rebuild the
'world' with it:
