Nope, ifconfig -a shows lo, veth0-veth7 and vif0.0-vif0.7 and xenbr0.

I guess that is due to udev.

Does

ifconfig -a

show the nic somewhere (eth1, eth2, ...)?


If the answer is yes, look at /etc/udev/rules.d/z25_persistent-net.rules
I guess udev has mapped the device somewhere else.
