Hello. I know that this feature will be avalible in the future release of Xem, but when I spoke to a support specialist at Xem, I was informed that the are people out there using third party software to duplicate a VM live. Does anyone know of such a program? Thank you in advance.

Whats Xem?
You can backup a domU with rsync for example and copy it to a new LVM
or filebased image.

Actually, if you are using LVM-based images (recommended), then you can simply create a snapshot of your domU at any time, then use it as a copy, or for backup purposes, or whatever. The LVM docs don't recommend modifying the original filesystem that the snapshot was taken from, so it would probably be better to take the snapshot, copy it somewhere, and then delete the snapshot, rather than running on the snapshot indefinitely.
