Usually running xm list gives the usual states of "running" "blocked"
"paused" etc.

but sometimes when a domain is just booting up, or doing a lot of work,
I will receive a blank state which looks like " ------ ". I'm trying to
find the exact reason for this. Is it that the domU is not currently
blocked waiting for IO, but it IS scheduled to run a process even though
another process is running at this moment? So no state would really
describe the domU's current state. OR, is it that for some reason it
take a while to update state information, and xm list queried for state
information in the middle of a change?

Also, the shutdown state " ---s--", according to the xm manual page,
should never be displayed. And in fact, I've never seen it. But the
source code for xm in some parts refers to this state as the shutting
down state. What is this state actually supposed to signify?

Thanks

-Jeremy Bongio
