[Xen-users] Xen 3.0 ocfs2 and Oracle Rac 10gR2
Hi to all: I'm trying to build an Oracle Rac10gR2 under 2 xenitized RedHat 4 nodes ( The host domain is debian 3.1 )
Well, all goes well until time to mount ocfs2. For Rac10gR2 I need to mount ocfs2 partitions with the datavolume option, but latests versions of ocfs2 doesn't comes with this option ( you can enable the O_DIRECT feature directly in the init.ora file, with the filesystemio_options ).
Then, actually my ocfs2 module info tells me this:
"[root@nodusa boot]# modinfo ocfs2 filename: /lib/modules/2.6.16-xen3_86.1_rhel4.1/kernel/fs/ocfs2/ocfs2.ko author: Oracle license: GPL description: OCFS2 1.3.3 version: 1.3.3 vermagic: 2.6.16-xen3_86.1_rhel4.1 SMP 686
gcc-3.4 depends: ocfs2_dlm,ocfs2_nodemanager,jbd srcversion: 5E567BC0BFB1DEE537CCF4B [root@nodusa boot]# "
And I'm forced to use ocfs2 verison 1.2.0 to be able to use datavolume option.
Now, what is the better way to do it?
I think that i need to replace ocfs2 modules in the 2.6.16-xen3_86.1_rhel4.1 kernel, recompiling them from sources... then I must download and install kernel sources, xen sources, ocfs2 sources and development tools to make a new encarnation of 2.6.16-xen3_86.1_rhel4.1 kernel but with trh ocfs2 1.2 code?
Or can i install a new rhel4, try to use ocfs2 1.2 and then xenitize the kernel ?
May be something with more experience with xen and ocfs2 can tell me if i'm right or wrong?
In any way TIA
I'm having a good fun days playing with xen :D but need to solve this ocfs2 -o datavolume ASAP ( my fianl goal is to build
the RAC enviroment and test services )
