Try xvda instead of hda or sda.  I'm not sure why, but sometimes (only
sometimes) the domU just doesn't want to talk pseudo-IDE or pseudo-SCSI.

Also make sure you've specified your ramdisk parameter (didn't see it in the
example config you gave) correctly.
