What do you mean? You "played around" with your xend config? or with the
dom0 kernel config?

If so, does it work if you use a default xend and/or kernel config?

Maybe you can post your xend, domU and kernel config, also. 
I am not sure if I can help, but maybe someone else can help more with this
information.
