This didn't work for me.
It simply didn't build a kernel at all.

I tried a lot and found the following to work:
# make KERNELS="linux-2.6-xen0 linux-2.6-xenU" world  
i.e. without ".16" !

However it created folders such as "linux-2.6.16-xen0" by itself then.

It's building right now...
