I'm afraid I'll add more confusion to this mail but, anyway

I got debian 3.1 stable with 2.6.8-2 kernel running
I successfully installed xen 2.0.7 (built from sources - make world works
fine)
compiling both 2.4 and 2.6 kernels for dom0
then I got Scientific Linux as domUs running in 2.4.30 kernels

currently I'm running two domUs

xen-debian-01:~# xm list
Name Id Mem(MB) CPU State Time(s) Console
Domain-0 0 245 0 r---- 1673.5
SEPAC-giis 1 179 1 -b--- 661.8 9601
SEPAC-server 2 179 1 -b--- 570.5 9602

I didn't have to recompile the kernel or do anything particular;
unfortunately (for me) the installation has been done on a Dell Optiplex GX280
and so far I found no way of replicating this configuration on any of the four
(4) others identical nodes I tried.

basically with the others I can compile Xen, run dom0 but then everything
freeze when I "xm create -c <config_file.conf>"
with no further informations.

I know this could be Dell dependent (as as been already pointed out in other
email)

I tried other distributions and, so far, the only working with less problem is
Fedora4 with 2.6.12-1.1454_FC4xen0 kernel

reason why I need Linux 2.4 working is due to the fact that I'm planning to
run EGEE stuffs in domUs (don't know if it is the same idea of Siju)

Cheers
Sergio :)
