Having something like that *as well* would be useful and trivial to add, and give a little more diagnostic info on why a domain crashed, but I think a simple early console is itself important enough to sacrifice some clean lines.

If you want multiple consoles you'll need a different layout anyway. On something that isn't a physical machine that seems a strange thing to do
AFAICT.

I think some people did ask for it (not the same as *needing* it, of course :-) ). However, it would be good if the chosen layout didn't preclude multiple consoles per domU in future. I'm certainly not proposing it for 3.0 though.
