yeah i'm answering my own post

problem is fixed now, the xen hypervisor or kernel form dom0 seemed to have/had some problems getting the display output to the vga port

i just bought a serial nullmodem cable and atached it to the serial port of that tiger4 system to a windows machine with hyperterminal running.

there was a kernel panic about not finding the root fs (megraid scsi drivers wasn't compiled into the kernel), this caused the reboots of the machine

system infos:
   intel tiger 4 system,
   gentoo-linux

###### elilo.conf  ######
boot=/dev/sda1
install=/usr/lib/elilo/elilo.efi
delay=20
default=xen

image=/boot/kernel-2.6.21-r4
       label=gentoo
       root=/dev/sda4
       read-only
       append="console=ttyS1,38400n8"

image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-xen
       label=xen
       vmm=/boot/xen.gz
       read-only
append="dom0_max_vcpus=4 dom0_mem=512M sync_console console=com1 com1=38400,8n1 -- root=/dev/sda4"

###### end #####

hi

i'm trying to get xen working on a tiger4 itanium system but the hypervisor hangs after scrubbing memory, and does not load the dom0 kernel

and if i enable sync_console via boot parameter, the hypervisor stops right after the timeout that is getting displayed on the screen and reboots

i also tryed other versions of xen from the merchurial repository (xen-ia64-unstable.hg <http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-ia64-unstable.hg>, xen-ia64-unstable-Intel.hg) <http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/xen-ia64-unstable-Intel.hg> i've not been able to get even the hypervisor bootmessages with above mentioned versions

helpfully infos:
tiger4 system,
xen 3.1 from http://bits.xensource.com/oss-xen/release/3.1.0/src.tgz/xen-3.1.0-src.tgz

##### elilo.conf #####
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-xen
       label=xen
       vmm=/boot/xen-3.1.0.gz
       read-only
append="console=vga dom0_mem=512M sync_console nomca -- root=/dev/sda3"
##### end #######

have not been able to get the console output to work, so no bootup messages here

thx in advance
