I used Dan's tree (xen-ia64-unstable) with a few modification to use such a 
number of CPUs (reduced VHPT size, increased Xenheap size, SMT).

I think using Dan's tree you can use 2 or 4 procs without modification (except 
enabling SMP).

Also note that only Domain0 was running; currently running domainU is broken.  
However, this is not an SMP issue.
