I think it ought to work.

Until recently Linux netback might not have included enough bytes in the
Linux part of an SKB to cover TCP/IP headers including options. That's
fixed in xen/stable-2.6.32.x though via 0cbb2dd6d518 and it was fixed
already in the version which went upstream in 2.6.39. I don't know how
versions before that actually behave in practice though.
