Have you tried changing the cpufreq/cpuidle settings? 
How about the watchdog? 

Also if you're using Xen 3.4.2 I believe you'll lose the dom0_mem=1024M 
parameter
due to the grub2 bug.. so make sure to add dummy=dummy parameter before the 
dom0_mem.
