The whole point of HVM is that you don't need to have a special kernel there!
So you can use the whatever *default* kernel the distro has.

But in the interest of saving space, one can re-use the dom0 pvops kernel right?
 

If you want, you CAN use the pvops kernel there aswell.. latest versions
even have the pv-on-hvm drivers.


That's the point of the original post. The pvops 2.6.32.15 Oops's when run in hvm mode.
I've tried half a dozen different config's and the result is always the same.

It's always right after this in the boot sequence (not repasting, it's in full below):

Does the pvops kernel need different boot cmdline APIC settings in hvm mode?

If pvops should work in hvm mode, then this kernel should boot. No?
