To Xen Community:
As a follow-up to the email I sent on Wed
the 23rd; a new opportunity for Xen Summit has just been presented
to me and I wanted to share the idea with the community for feedback. The
USENIX organization has approached our community to combine Xen Summit with
their 2008 USENIX
Annual Technical Conference, June 22-27, 2008 in Boston, MA. The
details of how this would work are not complete, but we would have an
opportunity to strongly influence the virtualization discussions at the event
as well as take a large branding position at the event to ensure that Xen
awareness among the attendees is high.
This would move back the event 1 – 2
months from the proposal I sent earlier this week, but it would greatly enhance
the exposure of Xen and perhaps introduce the project to new developers,
testers, and consumers. It would also allow you to expand your travel budget
and time by offering 2 conferences for the price of 1.
Please send all feedback on this to myself
directly; stephen.spector@xxxxxxxxxx
or the community mailing list; xen-community@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my earlier email and to those of you who
will respond to this email.
