Thread-topic: Unable to start vifs/xend error

Hello,

I am on unstable CS16540, but have tried with even the tip.

I have two nics in my system and want to use bridges. However, the vif’s do not come up at all even after I do a “xend start”

After a Xend start I get a message: “SIOCSI: Devices or resource busy”

“xm” works and I can create VMs etc , however the vifs do not get created and hence I cannot create any bridges. I can use the direct assignment of nics to VMs.

It works on a couple of other machines fine. My current machine is a machine that supports Vtd. This problem exists even without Vtd=1

Suggestions?

Thanks

-Padma
