Sigh - yeah, I'm pretty focused on fully-virtualized domains.  Too bad, it's an interesting approach. Sorry for the diversion.

While this is possible for fully virt guests, it's not doable in the
context of paravirtualized guests as there isn't any BIOS memory space
to put SMBIOS tables into
