changes in the linux patch 2.6.12 -> 2.6.12.5 in
drivers/acpi/pci_irq.c stopped x86_64 linux from booting
under xen on machines with SATA drives. This patch undoes
only those changes and restores the previous functionality.

Gulp. Is this true on native too, or is it provoking a Xen bug?

That patch to pci_irq.c is also included in 2.6.12.6, and even 2.6.14, so I guess this reveals an x86_64 Xen bug. Particularly if it doesn't affect xen-i386 builds.

Native 2.6.12.5 kernel *with* pci_irq.c patch and same configuration (sans Xen subarch) runs good on bare metal.
