[Xen-devel] recommended method to exchange information between dom0/domU
Dear list,
I am writing a small kernel driver for domU, in which I want to
exchange some data with dom0. The data is not very big, but is
produced pretty often (based on kernel timer in domU). Could anybody
please advice me which method can be used ?
I am working in Xen 3, so I can imagine some methods like below:
- Use event channel to signal about new data between dom0-domU, then
use share memory to exchange the real data. This is the traditional
way in Xen 2.
- In domU, Use xenbus to signal the new data to dom0, then use share
memory to exchange real data
- Combine xenbus and grant table to exchange data (no need share
memory like above method).
Any comments and suggestions are hightly appreciated.
Thank you a lot,
Hieu
